ARCHBISHOP’S DEBATING SHIELD The Cup aims to deepen Melbourne Catholic students’ understanding of the faith, encourage thoughtful engagement with diverse perspectives within the Church, develop critical thinking and public speaking skills, and foster respectful dialogue on the relationship between faith and culture. The 2026 edition of the Cup will happen over the course of five weeks in semester two (as per the academic calendar of CTC) of 2026, with the fifth week being the grand final which will be adjudicated by the Archbishop of Melbourne, or his chosen representative if he is unavailable.
